
The International Advisory Committee is responsible for monitoring the Memory of the World Programme.
It advises the Director-General of UNESCO on:
• selection of documentary heritage for the Register
• approval of selected projects as MOW projects
• fund raising
• modifications to the “General Guidelines to safeguard Documentary Heritage” (.pdf 265 KB)
The Committee Members who support and advise the International Committee are:
• appointed by the Director-General of UNESCO
• representation from all regions of the world
The final product of the International Advisory Committee is the World Register of documentary heritage meeting the Selection criteria for world significance.
