Memory of the World (MOW) as part of UNESCO's mission

The Memory of the World (MOW) project plays a “key role” in the implementation of UNESCO’s duties and objectives.

 

 

The MOW principal aims are:

 

    • Analysis and forecasting – What to avoid and fight against in the future

    • Research, teaching and training – How to increase knowledge

    • Standard setting – The requirements: to be of “exceptional universal value”

    • Advisory to Member States – How to create an “Advocacy forum of exchange”

    • “Forum of exchange” – How to gather and broadcast information about the historical heritage of countries by the organization of symposia, Commissions, reports and list.
