World Press Freedom Day 2013 media kit and social media campaign

Dear editors,

In view of the 20th anniversary of World Press Freedom Day, UNESCO Bangkok has launched the international social media campaign Think. Speak. Tweet. Like. Share. FREELY to tell the world that we should be “Free to Facebook”, “Safe to Tweet”, “Free to YouTube”, “Free to blog”, “Free to upload pics”, “Free to watch online video” or “Safe to use social media”.

We invite everyone to submit pictures supporting freedom of expression in all media – including social media. To join the campaign photograph yourself with one of our messages telling the world that we should be “Free to Facebook”, “Safe to Tweet”, “Free to YouTube”, “Free to blog”, “Free to upload pics”, “Free to watch online video” or “Safe to use social media”…or make your own!

Then post your picture to our Facebook page to help us raise awareness about protecting this vital human right or share your message on Twitter using the hashtags  #WPFD and #PRESSFREEDOM.

Photos are already being posted. Click here to see what others have shared.

More information about the campaign can be accessed on UNESCO Bangkok website.

In addition please find here a World Press Freedom Day Media Kit that includes the most relevant resources, latest news and reports related to WPFD 2013 and the theme Safe to Speak: Securing Freedom of Expression in All Media.

We look forward to your involvement

Thank you

Best regards,
