Asian Academy for Heritage Management

The Asian Academy for Heritage Management is a network of institutions throughout Asia and the Pacific region that offers professional training in the field of cultural heritage management. The mission of the AAHM is to strengthen professional capacity to sustainably manage heritage resources by providing a regional platform for institutional cooperation in education, training, and research. Under the guidance of UNESCO and ICCROM, AAHM promotes integrated, holistic and multi-disciplinary management of heritage resources, including both tangible and intangible expressions of culture.

Regional Workshop on Training-of-Trainers on Cultural Tourism Sites Management and Guiding
A series of national workshops organized through the joint collaboration of UNESCAP, UNESCO and national tourism organizations from each country throughout the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) within the framework of the GMS Tourism Strategy, was concluded in the regional seminar on Training-of-Trainers on Cultural Tourism Sites Management and Guiding, which was held jointly with the Mekong Institute, Khon Kaen, Thailand from 26-27 May 2008. The training materials and curricula were evaluated and planning for national implementation was undertaken.
