Third International Training Course on Disaster Risk Management of Cultural Heritage
 
Research Center for Disaster Mitigation of Urban Cultural Heritage, Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto is organizing its Third International Training Course on Disaster Risk Management of Cultural Heritage from 3 to 15 November 2008. The course aims at preparing disaster management plan of a cultural heritage site by taking into consideration the nature of that heritage and the disaster management context of the respective country.

UNESCO-UNITAR Hiroshima Office Series on the Management and Conservation on World Heritage Sites


The fifth workshop of the Series will be organized from 30 March to 4 April 2008 in Hiroshima, Japan, and will focus on the potential implications and roles of heritage in the promotion of peace, reconciliation and reconstruction in war-torn, post-war and post-disaster societies. Study tours to the two World Heritage sites in Hiroshima – the A-Bomb Dome and Itsukushima Shinto Shrine – will provide a living laboratory and direct learning opportunities. [more...]
