Han Jiang Ancestral Temple, Penang
Located in the historic centre of George Town, the Han Jiang Ancestral Temple was established at its present site by the Penang Teochew Association in 1870. The project scope includes the conservation of both tangible and intangible Teochew heritage, thus physical restoration and cultural revitalization efforts were undertaken concurrently. Today, the Han Jiang Ancestral Temple has emerged as the most intact and best preserved example of Teochew temple architecture in Southeast Asia.  As the only Teochew temple in multi-cultural George Town, its role of the religious institution as an important spiritual centre in Penang has been renewed as a result of this project.
