Report of the UNESCO "Sub-Regional Workshop on the Introduction and Evaluation of the UNESCO World Heritage Education Kit"

This Report describes the UNESCO "Sub-Regional Workshop on the Introduction and Evaluation of the UNESCO World Heritage Education Kit" activities and outcomes.

The workshop, held in 2000 in Sukhothai, Thailand, introduced the UNESCO World Heritage Education Resource Kit to the participants - national heritage and education experts from countries in the Southeast Asia region, in particular teachers and concerned educators of the ASP network, education curriculum planners, World Heritage and national heritage managers and other national stakeholders. The workshop was an important opportunity for these experts to forge working alliances for further implementation of the UNESCO World Heritage Education Resource Kit in their respective countries.

During the workshop participants evaluated the World Heritage Education Resource Kit as to its applicability for individual Southeast Asian country requirements. Participants also formulated country Action Plans for World Heritage Education based on or inspired bythe Kit and the activities of the workshop for implementation on both formal and non-formal levels.
