2002 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards for Culture Heritage Conservation
UNESCO received 46 projects from 15 countries and administrative areas in the Asia-Pacific region, namely Australia, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
Award winners were announced in September 2002 with the Ahhichatragarh – Fort of Nagaur, in Nagaur, Rajasthan, India, being recognized with the Award of Excellence. Photos and brief project summaries of this year's entries are given in this section.
