2004 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards for Culture Heritage Conservation

UNESCO received 47 projects from 12 countries and administrative areas in the Asia-Pacific region.  Countries represented were Australia, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

 

Award winners were announced in September 2004 with the Baltit Fort in Karimabad village in the Hunza region of Pakistan being recognized with the Award of Excellence. Photos and brief project summaries of this year's entries are given in this section.
