Agung Purwadi

Director, Centre for Policy Research and Educational Innovation, MoNE

Agung Purwadi is the Director of the Centre for Policy Research and Educational Innovation at the Indonesian Ministry of National Education (MoNE). He began his career, in 1978, in the Research and Development section of the MoNE and later moved to the Curriculum Centre and the Planning Division, then joined the Policy Research Centre in 1985. Dr. Purwadi joined the Directorate-General for Non-Formal Education (NFE) in 2001, following his success in serving as an Education for All (EFA) consultant. In this role, his functional responsibility was in coordinating the national EFA strategy in Indonesia, while also coordinating "Learning Package A, B, and C" within the Directorate for Community Education. After two years he was promoted to position of Director for NFE Personnel and at the end of 2005 he became the Director of the Centre for Policy Research, which later became the Centre for Policy Research and Educational Innovation. Dr. Purwadi gained his Masters Degree in Social Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1985, and has a PhD in Educational Policy Studies from State University of New York (SUNY). His master thesis and doctoral dissertation were both on Planning and Policy of Vocational and Technical Education.
