Director, Research Centre of Sustainable Development and Governance, Tongji University

Dean of the Institute of Urban Development and Management, at Tongji University in Shanghai, China. His research interests include resource productivity and circular economy, sustainable urban and regional development, public-private partnerships and policy analysis. He has published three books and more than 200 papers and articles on sustainable development, urban governance and public policy. He is a policy advisor for Shanghai Government, several provincial governments and also at the national level in China, and has been involved in several international research projects with organizations such as UNDP, UNICEF, World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. He was a visiting scholar at Harvard University and Chicago University from 2004 to 2005 and a visiting research fellow at Melbourne University, Australia from 1994 to1995.
