The Regional Seminar on Early Childhood Policy Review: “Sharing and Learning from the Policy Review Process”, 11-13 July, 2007


As a part of a joint project on ECCE policy review, UNESCO and UNICEF organized a regional seminar on early childhood policy review “Sharing and Learning from the Policy Review Process” on 11-13 July, 2007 in Bangkok, Thailand. The Regional Seminar, the second meeting for those participating countries, was also joined by observers representing DPR Korea, Papua New Guinea, as well as regional partners such as Plan International, Hong Kong University, and Regional Training and Resource Centre for ECCE Asia. The participating countries shared their review experience to date in terms of the technical “process” as well as “progress” in terms of key findings and common issues in the EC field in the region. They also learned how to translate these key findings into policy recommendations. Read more


Regional Workshop on ECCE Policy Review

UNESCO and UNICEF organized a Regional Training Workshop on Early Childhood Policy Review from 6 to 8 February 2007, in Bangkok. The workshop brought together representatives from nine countries in the region to document, share good practices, and agree on a regional and national policy review guidelines on early childhood care and education (ECCE). Training of Trainers in Laos
The Department of Non-Formal Education of the Ministry of Education in Lao PDR together with UNESCO Bangkok office,  organized a National Training Seminar for Regional Level ECCE Trainers to contribute to the provision of early childhood care and education programs of better quality in Lao PDR. New publication: The ECCE resource briefs are being published. The final version is currently only in hardcopy but an online version will be avaliable shortly. See advocacy briefs for more information.
