<p><font color="#33711E"><strong>Asia-Pacific Education for Sustainable Development Strategy Planning Workshop</strong></font></p>

The objectives of this workshop were to prepare for implementation of the DESD by seeking regional/sub-regional strategies for the Asia-Pacific, to assist APCEIU, as a UNESCO sponsored regional centre, to facilitate the development of action plans for ESD teachers and civil society, and to promote the establishment of a cyber-network for sharing ESD experiences and on-line training courses in Asia-Pacific.
Participants representing a variety of key ESD stakeholder groups, including UN agencies and organizations, national governments, universities, the media and NGOs shared information on the state of ESD and priorities for ESD in the region/sub-regions. Group discussions, based on multimedia and ICT, education for civil society and education for formal school systems, produced guidelines for developing ESD initiatives.
