<p><font color="#33711E"><strong>Invitational Event on University Leadership for Sustainable Development for Indian Vice-Chancellors</strong></font></p>

The Centre for Environment Education (CEE), in collaboration with the Association of University Leaders for a Sustainable Future (ULSF) and the United Nations University Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS), organized an Invitational Event for Vice Chancellors as part of the International Conference on Education for Sustainable Future in Ahmedabad.

 

The objectives of the event were to provide an opportunity for vice chancellors, rectors and deans of Indian universities to exchange with other ESD leaders, and to discuss and explore strategies to support and enhance the relevance of environmentally oriented courses at the undergraduate and professional levels, as well as strategies for campus sustainability. 

 

Representatives of universities from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Australia and the United States of America, discussed the introduction of a compulsory course on environmental studies in Indian universities and adopted recommendations.
