The panel session brought together panelists from governmental and intergovernmental agencies, civil society and NGOs, private sector, universities (research institutions) to discuss how partnerships can contribute to and promote ESD in the Asia-Pacific region.
As the private sector is considered to be an essential actor, the session explored the broad range of issues and challenges in mobilizing it. The effectiveness of the Decade will depend on the strength and inclusiveness of the partnerships, networks and alliances.
Considering the extensive experience that businesses and development organizations have in the area of ESD, it is important to receive their input and it is advisable to systematize knowledge of the ESD activities conducted by business schools and business-related-organizations.
