Global Action Week 2010

Global Action Week 2010 began on 19 April, with activities focusing on education to take place throughout the year. Under the theme of "financing quality education for all", the key message of GAW 2010 urges governments and donors to mobilize their resources and to honour the US$50 billion aid to education increase, which was pledged during the Gleneagles G-8 summit in 2005.
This event is organized by the Global Campaign for Education (GCE), a coalition of charities, trade unions and citizens’ groups from around the world. GAW 2010 differs from past Action Weeks as it will include elements of “1GOAL: Education for All”, an advocacy campaign that seeks to raise awareness about the importance of education. Read more
