NGOs re-affirm commitment to education
10.05.2010More than 100 representatives from NGOs from all regions gathered at the 5th meeting of UNESCO’s Collective Consultation of NGOs on Education for All (CCNGO/EFA). The meeting was held from 22 to 24 March 2010 in Dhaka and organized by UNESCO in collaboration with the Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE).
Taking place one month after the Ninth High-Level Group (HLG) meeting on EFA in Addis Ababa from 23 to 25 February, participants focused on two themes: Marginalization and The Impact of the Financial Crisis on Education.
In addition to exploring the role of NGOs in protecting marginalized groups from the worst effects of the crisis, CCNGO/EFA members and UNESCO also defined better strategic collaboration in the run-up to 2015.
