- ICT in Secondary Education in the Pacific Region
ICT has the potential to enhance people’s lives in the Pacific Islands Countries (PICs) in many ways. Day to day activities such as simple communication, health, education and economic activities are largely improved through affordable and stable digital network infrastructure. However, to benefit from ICTs, countries need to include ICT education and training in their national strategic plans, so that more people attain skills and expertise in the area of ICT. - Implementation of ICT in Teacher Training: The Communication Initiative Network
According to this case study, the geographical features of Fiji, combined with political obstacles, have hindered the country’s infrastructure development and the incorporation of information and communication technologies (ICTs) into educational policies and practices.

This paper presents an attempt, by said the researchers to review Fiji's current CS/IT secondary school curriculum with a view to expanding it and making it more relevant and responsive to market and personal needs. The Asia-Pacific Development Information Programme (APDIP) in partnership with Cisco Systems, has established the Networking Academy Programme, a project which provides students in Asia-Pacific countries with an up-to-date, two-year IT curricula and international certification. The programme runs in countries where access to specialised training does not exist, or in states within larger countries that are marginalised or underdeveloped. - Policy Makers' Forum and Workshop, Fiji: September 2006
As part of the "ICT in Education Policy" project, the UNESCO Bangkok office convened a “High-Level Policy Makers’ Forum” and “Capacity Building Workshop" in Fiji, from 25 to 30 September, 2006. Ministers of Education and ministry officials from 14 Member States of the Pacific region attended the two events. - ICT-Based Inclusive Growth and Poverty Reduction in the Pacific
The objective of the project is to develop a preliminary list of ICT interventions that are expected to have a substantial and tangible impact on inclusive growth and poverty reduction and will be suitable for implementation in the region. Network Strategies Limited was engaged by the Asian Development Bank, in conjunction with the Secretariat of the Pacific Community, to undertake a study of potential ICT interventions for inclusive growth and poverty reduction in the Pacific.
