UNESCO ICT in Education Awards Ceremony
Enhancing UNESCO's efforts to achieve the Education for All and lifelong learning goals, the Innovative Practices in ICT in Education project was launched in 2007 to identify, document, share and multiply ICT in education innovations with the support of Japanese Funds-in-Trust (JFIT). One component of the project is the UNESCO ICT in Education Innovation Awards designed to recognize outstanding work by (i) teacher and teacher educators, (ii) educational planners and administrators, and (iii) non-formal educators.
The winners were invited to Bangkok to receive their prizes and certificates. UNESCO would like to thank Intel Electronics Ltd. for their kind contribution of three laptops as prizes for the winner in each category.
On stage to congratulate the winners and hand out the certificates were Mr. Susil Premajayantha, Honourable Minister of Education from Sri Lanka; Mr. Abdul Rahman Abu Haniffa, the Director of Government Policy Programs for Malaysia and ASEAN, of Intel and Mr. Sheldon Shaeffer, Director of UNESCO Bangkok.
