Maintaining the ICT in Education Website

This website ( provides information about projects, activities and resources dealing with the use of ICT in education in the Asia-Pacific region.

Supported by Japanese Funds-in-Trust, the website is a portal for use by policy makers, educators and researchers. The main target audience are those involved in planning, organising, or implementing an ICT strategy, policy or project, from policy makers, educational managers, and staff development teams, to curriculum and educational content developers, teachers and non-formal educators, educational researchers, evaluators and development workers.

Relaunched in March 2005, the website has been entirely renovated and made more user-friendly.

Users of the website can view information on:

  • Our five themes: policy, teacher training, teaching and learning, monitoring and measuring change, and non-formal education.
  • Regional and country activities and programmes.
  • UNESCO ICT in Education projects.

Compilation of Knowledge Gained and Lessons Learned

The Clearinghouse project compiles the knowledge gained and lessons learned from the various "ICT in Education" projects and analyzes this to prepare publications which can inform decision makers and educators. By providing detailed information and best practice models in concise and easily-accessible forms, the Clearinghouse is enabling the sharing of knowledge and facilitating the replication and adaption of good practice.

Research on the Regional Use of ICT in Education

The Clearinghouse project conducts research into the use of ICT in education in 44 countries of the Asia-Pacific region. The results of this research are disseminated through publications and CD-ROMs, and through the regular e-newsletter.
