Regional workshop on the creation of national and regional schoolnet

Background
The “Strengthening ICT Use in Schools and SchoolNet project” which is supported by the Japanese Funds in Trust and the ASEAN Foundation is now in the second phase of the project implementation. This second phase focuses on integrating ICT into classroom teaching and learning in the twenty four pilot schools in the eight project countries, namely Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos PDR, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. This activity will bring together the National Coordinators and the SchoolNet Managers/Website managers from the eight countries and prepare them for the creation of National and Regional SchoolNet.
In order to implement this activity, the 3 days Regional Workshop on the Creation of National and Regional SchoolNet will be organised from 4-6 April 2005.
Objectives of the Workshop
The objectives of the Regional Workshop on the Creation of National and Regional SchoolNet include the following:
- To develop master plan and workplan for the creation of ASEAN Schoolnet and Website
- To design ASEAN SchoolNet website
- To identify role and responsibilities of regional and national SchoolNet
- To develop policies, rules, and guidelines for participating in the ASEAN SchoolNet
- To gain knowledge about "Telecollaboration" in order to effectively implement the activities in the project.
- To gain knowledge on how to monitor activities in the project
