Learning Circles Training Course
Themes
Themes are designed to cater specifically for Maths, Science and Language classes, but you will see that almost any subject can fit into most themes. The themes are:
Measure-by-Measure
This theme is meant to encourage investigations that require calculations and measurements or working with data that can be analysed with charts and other analytical tools. This should appeal specifically to the maths and science classes but is not restricted to such classes.
Measurements from difference geographical locations could highlight the differences caused by latitude, longitide, altitude, climate etc. On the other hand, different classes may tackle numerically-related problems in different ways based on their training or even their culture.

People and Places
This theme is about people and their opinions, attitudes, beliefs and values. It is also about places in which people live. The investigations under this theme could focus on people or places, or both people and places. People live in specific contexts of culture, geography and society. This interaction between people and places makes for interesting different expressions of lifestyles.
This theme could appeal to language, social science and ecenomics classes, but science classes may also find opportunities for telecollaboration under this broad theme.

The World We Live In
This theme is focused on the physical world and the way that we interact with it. Obvious investigations would include environmental study and the broad learning areas of science would find many opportunities in studies of the physical, chemical and living organisms. In addition to this, studies could include resources, the earth in space, natural disasters and architecture, to name but a few.
