Hartfried Schmid

Hartfried Schmid has been working for the UNESCO Bangkok ICT in Education Programme as an Information Officer for more than 5 years. He is responsible for the activities of the Clearinghouse project which undertakes research on ICT use in education in the Asia-Pacific region, and disseminates research results and lessons-learned. Through this project numerous publications have been developed and distributed, as well as a strong online presence created with websites, newsletter, social media, e-learning and much more.

Since 2009, Mr. Schmid assists in the implementation of the UNESCO South-South Cooperation project on ICT in Education Teacher Training. Mr. Schmid also facilitates training workshops on the use of e-learning tools, web based applications and software in education. He is a core member of the organizing committee of the annual UNESCO-APEID International Conference on Education. Before joining UNESCO, Mr. Schmid worked in various functions in Germany, India and Malaysia. He holds a Master degree in Political Science and a Master degree in Public Administration.
