Maria Melizza Tan

Mel currently serves as the Programme Officer for ICT in Education at UNESCO-Bangkok where she manages various activities related to capability building workshops, studies/publications, and regional conferences on the appropriate and effective use of ICT in teaching and learning.  Prior to joining UNESCO Bangkok, she served as the Project Manager of eSkwela, an internationally recognized (UNESCO and Computerworld Honors Program) that provides ICT-enhanced non-formal educational opportunities for out-of-school-youth and adults in the Philippines. Her publications include two ICT literacy textbooks for secondary schools and a number of journal articles on ICT4E and the eSkwela Project. She earned her Bachelor’s (Management Engineering) and Masteral (Psychology – Child & Family Development) degrees from Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines.
