The British Council-run website offers free teaching resources for use in English lessons. There are lesson plans and activities complete with worksheets to download for primary, secondary and adult teachers. Teachers can find out more about the different types of English teaching resources in the relevant sections of the website.

*** Languages Other Than English
Teachers can link to all sorts of language resources from this page, from French and Spanish to Arabic and Chinese. Search by language or choose ‘general’ and access, for example, articles on rubrics or applied linguistics, lesson plans, and templates for making your own activities.

*** The Less Commonly Taught Languages Project
This is an unusual site that aims to offer resources to teachers of languages other than English, French, German and Spanish. As well as helping teachers develop materials, the project also helps teachers contact one another. Teaching materials are available for Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese classes, among many others.

21st Century Literacies
Educators consider four new literacy skills – information, media, multicultural and visual – as vital to thriving in the digital age, and this website contains "Tools for Reading the World", a collection of resources and links relating to various types of literacy skills.
