UNESCO's ICT in Education programme works together with its partners to utilize ICT effectively to enhance the reach and quality of education in the Asia-Pacific region.

The ICT in Education programme is currently largely funded by Japanese Funds-in-Trust (JFIT), which has long recognized the vital role of quality education in achieving society's aspirations.
The contribution made by JFIT has been a key factor in the success of the ICT in Education programme since it began in 2002 and JFIT has thereby made a meaningful difference in terms of achieving the programme's long-term goal of utilizing information and communication technologies (ICT) to enhance the reach and quality of teaching and learning in the Asia-Pacific region.

The ASEAN Foundation is a key partner in the UNESCO SchoolNet project. The aim of the ASEAN Foundation is to promote human development in the ASEAN region, with a focus on capacity building, skills development and sharing of knowledge.

In 2005 Microsoft became the initiating partner in the Next Generation of Teachers (Next Gen) project.
The Microsoft Asia-Pacific Public Sector team has become actively involved in the development of the Next Gen project and Microsoft's Partners in Learning programme has made a key financial contribution in support of this initiative.

In 2006 Cisco Systems became one of the key partners in the Next Generation of Teachers (Next Gen) project.
