Projects
- ICT in Education Policy Project
The UNESCO "ICT in Education Policy" project aims to promote appropriate policy models and strategies for the integration of ICT into education in the Asia-Pacific region, with special emphasis on developing policies which utilize ICT to remove barriers to participation in education and enhance the quality of education.
- Establishing Effective Use of ICT in Education for all in Cambodia
The long-term objectives of this Japanese Funds in Trust funded project are to contribute towards achieving the Education for All goals, reducing poverty, bridging the digital divide, and promoting digital inclusion through the use of ICT in education.
- ICT use in Primary and Secondary Education
Suffering from the legacy of the Khmer Rouge destruction of the education system, some 3,000 villages in Cambodia have no schools, most children either having no chance to learn or studying in the open fields. American Assistance for Cambodia and Japan Relief for Cambodia are helping these children in remote regions of Cambodia to catch up with their overseas peers, by providing access to ICTs for education and improving the life of villagers through a number of different projects.
- Digital Divide Education
This organization provides sustainable opportunities for the disadvantaged in Cambodia by educating people, providing jobs and bringing capital into the country. Under-privileged and rural Cambodians, such as land mine and polio victims, can become empowered by following a carefully staged technology-related job creation programme, beginning with computer training and data entry jobs.
- Open Schools Project: Cambodia
The Open Schools Program is a joint project of the Open Institute and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the Royal Government of Cambodia, who are working together to use ICT to improve the quality of education.
- Improving Management of TVE's through the Application of ICT's
Technical and Vocational Education (TVE) is concerned with the preparation of learners for employment, through the provision of knowledge, skills and attitudes desirable in the world of work. With our working world now being permeated with ICT, it is logical that TVE should include training in ICT applications.
- Strengthening ICT in Schools and SchoolNet Project in ASEAN Setting
The UNESCO SchoolNet project, “Strengthening ICT in Schools and SchoolNet Project in ASEAN Setting”, was initiated in recognition of the need to assist teachers in integrating ICT into teaching and to facilitate participation of teachers and students in the Asia-Pacific region in SchoolNet tele-collaboration activities.
- Rural Schools Cambodia Project
American Assistance for Cambodia and Japan Relief for Cambodia are helping children in remote regions through an adopt-a-school programme at CambodiaSchools.com. Donations are solicited online to build the schools, and matched by World Bank funding. The village children are taught to use computers, and can connect by e- mail to other children around the world. Over 200 schools have been completed so far.
- Children's Future International
The vision of this organization is to provide a space where all children may fulfill their human potential. CFI serves marginalized and vulnerable children through access to quality education and well-being programs. They work to help break the cycle of poverty by developing educated, self-reliant and compassionate individuals who may become positive role models and have the potential to grow into future community leaders.
