Projects

  • Improving Management and Delivery of TVE's through the Application of ICT's Technical and Vocational Education (TVE) is concerned with the preparation of learners for employment, through the provision of knowledge, skills and attitudes desirable in the world of work. With our working world now being permeated with ICT, it is logical that TVE should include training in ICT applications.

  • UNESCO School Net Project: Myanmar
    The UNESCO SchoolNet project, “Strengthening ICT in Schools and SchoolNet Project in ASEAN Setting”, was initiated in recognition of the need to assist teachers in integrating ICT into teaching and to facilitate participation of teachers and students in the Asia-Pacific region in SchoolNet telecollaboration activities.

    One of the more significant information and communication technology (ICT)-related developments in Myanmar is the completion of the first phase of the Yatanarpon cyber city. Officially opened on 14 December 2007, the city includes a telecommunications hub and seven incubation centres.

    This paper examines the role of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in advancing the cause of education for all and livelong learning. After examining the claimed benefits of ICTs for promoting education and schooling, and the characteristics of education and the basic education movement in Asia, the paper focuses on providing a case study of one country in South-East Asia, that of Myanmar, regarding the use of ICTs to achieve lifelong education for all.
