Projects

  • ICT Project 2000 
    Transforming the lives of the increasingly marginalized rural communities of Nepal, this project provides computer and IT equipment and training, wherever a connection is available. Each school is provided with between five and ten computers with Internet access. One teacher from each school is provided with training on software applications and computer hardware.

  • Examples of ICT in Nepal: Radio Lumbini
    The overall objective of the station is to provide a local communication system, to mobilize local skills and knowledge, to recognize local language, literature, arts and folk culture, and to support democracy, national integrity, and community empowerment.

  • Improving Management and Delivery of TVE's  through the Application of ICT's
    Technical and Vocational Education (TVE) is concerned with the preparation of learners for employment, through the provision of knowledge, skills and attitudes desirable in the world of work. With our working world now being permeated with ICT, it is logical that TVE should include training in ICT applications.

  • Nepal: ICT in Education and OLPC
    Huge disparities in quality of education and access to education characterize the Nepali school system. Schools in rural areas, mostly government run, compare poorly to schools in the cities. These government schools not only suffer because of the digital divide, but also lack the quality in teaching and tools to enhance the learning process.

  • Nepal en route for Introducing for ICT in Education
    Nepal has started an initiative for introducing information and communication technology (ICT) in education with UNESCO’s support.
