Japan ICT in School Survey
Objectives
- To ensure the digitisation of School Education and Reinforcement of Human Resource Development Japan will seek to become a superpower in terms of IT human resources by FY2005 and will promote an IT Human Resource Development Scheme in order to intensively implement the measures necessary for this
- A wide variety of educational content will be enhanced and applied for the further use of IT in school lessons

- Public facilities with internet access
- Number of public schools with internet access and computers
- Number of teachers in public schools who can operate PCs
- Number of human resources with IT-related master's and doctoral degrees
- Teachers able to teach IT skills to others
- Number of foreign nationals with the status of residence, "Engineer", and number of nationals entering Japan with the status of residence, "Engineer"
- Ensuring security and reliability
- Software availability
