Promoting Inclusive Teacher Education: Advocacy Guides (Urdu)

The original Advocacy Guides in English have been translated into Urdu by the National Language Authority (Muqtadira Qaumi Zaban) and adapted to the Pakistan’s context by a group of experts in the areas of teacher education and inclusive education, with support of UNESCO Islamabad Office and UNESCO Bangkok Office. Published online since May 2017, the adapted Guides consist of five booklets; namely Introduction, Policy, Curriculum, Materials, and Methodologies. The Guides were designed for anyone who wants to carry out advocacy work to bring about improvements in pre-service teacher education towards more inclusive education in Pakistan. The Guides discuss challenges and barriers to inclusive education in different areas of teacher education and outline ideas for advocates to consider and adapt according to their specific contexts for effective advocacy towards more inclusive practices.
