What is Lifelong Learning?

Lifelong learning builds upon the foundation of universal literacy. Lifelong learning encompasses learning at all ages and subsumes formal, non-formal and informal learning. That is to say, it includes early childhood education, formal schooling, higher education, and continuing education and distance education. In view of the world in flux in the 21st century, lifelong learning has become more important to face changes and adapt ourselves for sustainable society and individual empowerment.
