About NESPAP Open Platform

NESPAP is a web-based knowledge portal that provides improved access to policy, information and knowledge resources on national education systems in the Asia-Pacific region. In particular, NESPAP promotes knowledge sharing and exchange of national education policies that are in line with the Education for All (EFA) goals and the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) and educational development in the region in general.

NESPAP aims to strengthen UNESCO’s knowledge sharing function by providing an online information platform for policy makers, managers, practitioners, and other education stakeholders in the region to document and analyse policies, disseminate innovative practices, network and facilitate regional discussion on system-wide policy reform of the education sector.

The platform also aims to showcase the efforts of Member States in enhancing the credibility, efficiency and effectiveness of national education systems, and in promoting exchange of expertise and information with other stakeholders such as researchers and education professionals, practitioners, the private sector and civil society.

NESPAP reinforces the capacity of institutions within and outside education ministries by providing resources to efficiently cooperate and implement partnerships. The platform also supports capacities of the Regional Bureau of Education and UNESCO Field Offices by assisting in the development of a knowledge base on policies and the functioning of education systems in countries of the region, and in reinforcing interaction with educational planners, managers and educational practitioners at regional, national and subnational levels.
