Audit Director, Australian Universities Quality Agency
Dr. Antony Stella is an Audit Director at the Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA), an independent national agency that promotes quality and audits quality assurance in Australian higher education. She has analysed the AUQA audit reports inn areas such as Benchmarking, Indigenous issues, Community engagement, and Internationalisation. Before joining AUQA in August 2005, she held a deputy executive position at the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an autonomous organisation that quality assures higher education institutions of India. Dr. Stella is a recipient of a Shastri Indo-Canadian Faculty Research Award and a Fulbright Post-doctoral Fellowship, and has visited many countries to present the country experiences of India and Australia on quality assurance. She has authored reports, desk-study overviews, case studies and training materials on QA for organisations such as UNESCO, World Bank and OECD. She was a member of the UNESCO-OECD expert group that drafted guidelines for quality assurance of cross-border education. She is on the Board of the Asia-Pacific Quality Network and has published widely on quality assurance.
