Prof. Dato' Dr. Sharifah Hapsah is the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and a Professor of Medical Education. Dr. Hapsah is recognized internationally as an expert on medical education and has worked as a consultant with the United Nations World Health Organization, other UN agencies and numerous medical institutions. Among her many achievements and awards are the "Fred Katz Medal" for the development of medical education in developing countries, conferred by the Australian and New Zealand Association for Medical Education, and the "Special Award of Excellence for Innovation", bestowed by the Commonwealth of Learning and International Council for Distance Education.
