School-based enterprises, joint development of curriculum, exchanges of staff and teachers are a few policy examples. The emergence of 'green industry' has given rise to the urgent need to understand the key characteristics of 'green industry' in terms of training competent manpower, and to identify best ways of linking the industry to education and training with a high degree of feasibility. In order to facilitate education and training that develops green industries, an emphasis should be placed on the core competences required in green industries, qualifications, bridging mechanism between education and labour market, lifelong learning system for upgrading skills, and on the role of relevant stakeholders.
