Interim Technical Meeting for the Regional Policy Research on Quality and Status of Female Teachers and their Impact on EFA in Asia 9-11 November, 2009 Bangkok, Thailand
14.12.2009UNESCO Bangkok, Ochanomizu University and the Korean Institute of Gender Equality Promotion and Education (KIGEPE), launched the regional policy research on the issue of quality and status of female teachers and their impact on EFA in Asia in March 2009. The identified countries to be involved for research namely Bangladesh, Cambodia, Lao PDR and Mongolia were invited to join the first preparatory regional planning workshop in launching this regional research project, from 16 to 18 March 2009 in Bangkok, Thailand. As discussed in the meeting an interim meeting was organised from 9-11 November, 2009 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The main purpose of the interim meeting was to discuss the research project and to jointly discuss the further strategies for preparing the draft regional report. In the interim meeting the final framework of the research findings and also the further actions to be taken based on the research findings were discussed. Participating countries shared the draft research findings for their respective countries.
The final meeting for the research project is scheduled to take place in February, 2010 in Bangkok, Thailand. More details about this final meeting will be uploaded soon.
