UNESCO HIV and AIDS focal points workshop, Chiang Mai, Thailand, 11-15 May 2009
The workshop aimed to present and share UNESCO’s ongoing and planned work on HIV and AIDS; discuss UNESCO’s ‘corporate priorities’, including EDUCAIDS and the upcoming Global Guidelines on sex, relationships and HIV education and UNESCO’s strategic role in the joint UN response to HIV and AIDS and how to strengthen partnerships; and finalize a new Regional Strategy for HIV and AIDS in the Asia Pacific Region.
Focal points from 4 National Commissions and 13 UNESCO field offices as well as representatives from UNAIDS, UNODC and NGOs attended the meeting.
