Teach to the Future
This is part of a global teacher development ICT-in-Education initiative sponsored by Intel Corporation and supported by Microsoft Corporation. The programme focuses particularly on how to promote inquiry/project-based learning and effective integration of ICTs into existing curriculum teaching to enhance students' learning and achievements through research, communication and productivity strategies and tools. The flexible, modular curriculum was developed in the US, and localised and adapted by Universiti Sains Malaysia to suit educational needs of Malaysia. It incorporates the use of the Internet, web-page design and multimedia software to make teaching and learning more interesting, interactive and effective. It emphasises hands-on learning and the creation of multimedia lesson plans and evaluation tools, and encourages teachers to work in teams, problem-solve, and participate in peer reviews of their lesson plans in line with the national education guidelines.

With the support and endorsement from the MOE, particularly in collaboration with the Teacher Education Division and State Education Departments, the programme has trained over 15,000 teachers and the curriculum is formally integrated into the national smart school teacher training syllabus and the pre-service teacher training syllabus.
