UNESCO Youth Forum Looking Beyond Disaster (LBD) to be held on 7 – 11 October 2013, Mercure Hotel, Padang, Indonesia (no registration fee)

Under the joint collaboration of the Andalas University, Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia; Education for Sustainable Development Unit and the Regional Unit for Social and Human Sciences in Asia and the Pacific (RUSHSAP), UNESCO Bangkok.

The workshop themes are: Looking Beyond Disaster, with sub-themes: 1. Disaster Risk Reduction in the Context of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD); 2. Community Rebuilding; and 3. Health Care Emergency Response.

The aim of the workshop is for youth from the Asia and the Pacific regions to share good practices and policies experiences with others for developing and strengthening activities for looking beyond disaster in Asia and the Pacific region. We also welcome participants from other regions of the world. We would be very grateful if you could consider the possibility to submit a Draft of Action Plan to one of the theme of the above issues by preparing a writing paper and giving a presentation for twenty minutes at this workshop.

We are pleased to inform you that there is no registration fee. The organizers will pay for accommodation and meals during the workshop for the youth who have submitted the draft of good action plans. However all participants have to pay for their own travelling expenses.
