Dr. Hirofumi Abe is the Dean of the Graduate School of Environmental Science at Okayama University. In 2007, Dr. Abe was appointed as the Chair Holder of the UNITWIN-UNESCO Chair Programme in Research and Education for Sustainable Development at Okayama University. A specialist in the field of Urban and Regional Planning and Environmental Planning, Dr. Abe taught in the Department of Civil Engineering and the Department of Environmental and Civil Engineering at Okayama University for almost 20 years before joining the Graduate School of Environmental Science. Dr. Abe is a graduate of Kyoto University and has three academic degrees in Civil Engineering.
