Vice Chancellor, Allama Iqbal Open University
Dr. Mahmood H. Butt is the Vice Chancellor and CEO of Allama Iqbal Open University in Islamabad, Pakistan. Prior to taking this role, Dr. Butt taught at universities in Pakistan, Sudan and the United States, including at Eastern Illinois University where he served as a Member and Chair of various task forces and committees, such as the Accreditation and Program Approval Task Force of the university, and the Buzzard Building Renovation Committee which managed a multi-million dollar project to create a technologically "smart" building to house certain colleges on the university campus. Dr. Butt has authored numerous articles and papers on education policy for journals and international conferences and has presented at education conferences all over the world. Dr. Butt was educated in English Literature and Language (BA), Education (MA), and the History and Philosophy of Education (PhD).
