Projects

  • Training and Professional Development of Teachers in Mongolia
    With the goal of enabling teachers to use ICT to enhance the quality of teaching and learning, the UNESCO ICT in Education Programme has implemented a number of regional, sub-regional and national projects. This section lists those projects and outlines their activities and achievements.

  • Mongolian Information Development Association (MIDAS)
    The vision of the MIDAS NGO is to create an information-based society in Mongolia that will improved the quality of life of citizens and intensified all economic sectors of the country by developing Information and Communications Technology sector as a one of the competitive sector.
  • ICT for Innovating Rural Education of Mongolia (IIREM)
    The ICT for Innovating rural education of Mongolia (IIREM) project has been developed to establish a replicable model for using ICT to bring education content, modern pedagogy and information to poor rural schools and communities.

  • Distance Education in Mongolia
    During July and August, 2004, the World Bank, in cooperation with Mongolia’s Ministry of Science, Technology, Education and Culture, sent a mission to Mongolia to explore the potential of low-cost rural distance learning (RDL).

  • International Development Research Center: Mongolia
    Many Information and Communication Technology (ICT) developments have taken place in Mongolia since 2006. The fibre optic cable backbone has been extended by more than 4,000 kilometres and the overall international bandwidth has more than doubled. Various types of ICT services are now available and service providers compete not only in network coverage, but also in service delivery.
