Preparation Workshop: Preparing for national-level training workshops

This workshop followed on from the March 2004 "Writing Workshop" which aimed to draft regional guidelines and competency-based standards for integrating ICT into pedagogy.
The objectives of this "Preparation workshop" were to orient the team-leaders in the participating countries regarding the JFIT-funded ICT in Teacher Training project; to share information about the Regional Guidelines and Standards for ICT Competency; to discuss the development of a national training curriculum; and to consider further development and utilization of the training modules.
Twenty two participants from nine Asia-Pacific countries participated in the workshop.
A key outcome of the workshop was the development of a national-level resource base which will assist in organizing national-level training workshops for capacity building of teacher educators and master teachers in integrating ICT into in teaching.
