Activities under Life Skills Learning through NFE programme

APPEAL is implementing the following activities to support the member states to develop a clear framework for implementing life skills activities within the national EFA strategies and actions.

 

GOAL 1 – Launching Life Skills Programme through NFE

To include life skills in the EFA strategies and actions to meet the learning needs of all children, young people and adults, especially disadvantaged population.

 

RESULTS – EXPECTED

  1. Definition on life skills will be reviewed and developed to suit the situation of Asian countries and in view of the national EFA plans.
  2. Based on the findings and conceptual framework, a practical guidebook on life skills learning through NFE will be developed.
  3. Capacity of key NFE personnel of participating countries will be enhance to enable them to develop strategic plan is developed for implementing life skills activities through CLCs/NFE activities.


STRATEGIES

  1. Conduct country studies on life skills learning through NFE.
  2. Organize a regional workshop in cooperation with UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) for the countries to share their studies and define the conceptual framework.
  3. Develop a guidebook on life skills learning through NFE containing definition and strategies suited for the contexts of Asia-Pacific region for implementing life skills activities at the grassroots levels.
  4. Organize a regional workshop using the guidebook and assist countries in preparing action plans including monitoring mechanisms to be developed by UIS.
