In the prevailing situation dominated by change in the workplace and increasing use of information and communication technologies, development of broad knowledge and work-skills in the perspective of lifelong learning is crucial for productive employment and responsible citizenship. The changing environment of the workplace has raised fresh challenges for Technical Vocational Education and Training. Globalisation, advances in information and communication technologies (ICT), environmental pressures, a growing senior citizen’s age group, and the HIV/AIDS pandemic have both positive and negative consequences on the world of work and the arena of technical and vocational education.

This is a project aimed at improving the management and delivery of Technical and Vocational Education (TVE) through applications of ICTs. The immediate objectives are to: supply and equip departments and commissions of TVE institutions with suitable computer equipment, networks and multi-media software; provide training in their use; and expand access to teaching and learning materials to enrich delivery of TVE.
