- Wireless link gives Bangladesh agriculture students faster Internet access - Students at the largest agricultural university in Bangladesh now have rapid Internet access, via a wireless link to the capital, Dhaka, more than 100 kilometres away. Leading agricultural scientists and researchers now have a valuable tool to assist them in finding national solutions for national challenges.

In 1993, the world's nine high-population countries (Bangladesh, Brazil, Egypt, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Nigeria, and Pakistan) committed themselves to using distance education as one means of addressing some of their needs in basic education. This paper reports their progress.

Amader Gram is a model project of integrated rural development through capacity building of the disadvantaged community people, conservation of bio-diversity and sustainable use/mobilisation of natural resources and environmentally sound income generation activities. Since 1996, Amader Gram has helped to improve the lives of the disadvantaged poor people and children in 20 villages under 2 Upazila (Sub-District) of Bagerhat (Rampal) and Khulna (Paikgacha) districts in Bangladesh.
