- Education - Swing, Sniff and Swipe
A collaboration between students and Auckland Zoo to create new environments for animals. The project also helps students to learn about animal behaviour and improve their computer skills.
Megabright, New Zealand
- Computers in Homes (New Zealand) - This is an award winning project (the 2001 Stockholm Challenge Award) which aims to narrow the digital divide in less-advantaged New Zealand communities. The programme is an initiative of the 2020 Communications Trust, with financial support from the Ministry of Education, volunteer support from tertiary institutions and community groups, plus paid support technicians. Participating families pay $50 and sign an agreement which commits parents to attend five training sessions, call the designated technician if their computer develops faults, make family rules about use of the computer and the Internet, supervise use of the computer and teach a family member or neighbour the IT skills they have learned.

This site from New Zealand is devoted to promoting cyber safety for children, parents, schools and community organizations, and provides authoritative support and guidance on such topics as pornography and the net, privacy issues, computer security and Internet fraud.

The Le@rning Federation is an initiative of State and Federal governments of Australia and New Zealand, aiming to develop online interactive curriculum content, specifically for Australian and New Zealand schools. The Initiative will support teachers in enhancing student learning, while developing systems to allow the input and delivery of high quality curriculum online by a range of experts. - Cantatech
Cantatech is a cluster of area schools and high schools in the South Island, New Zealand. These schools share teachers on-line to enable them to offer a broader range of subjects at a senior level. Cantatech also runs distance learning programmes, where a teacher in one school delivers an on-line programme to students in 1 or more of the other schools within the group and occasionally beyond. In 2003 they have about 95 students from 12 schools.
