UNESCO’s meet and greet with Thai celebrities for non-formal students

Bangkok, 6 September 2012 – UNESCO Bangkok will organize a celebrity meeting, a talk and a mini concert for non-formal students under ‘Youth Empowerment through Mobile Learning Project’ on Wednesday 12 September 2012 from 15.00-18.30 at Thailand Knowledge Park (TK Park), 8th Floor, Central World, Bangkok, to which media and press are kindly invited.

The event aims at providing an opportunity for youths to meet successful and famous people who have interesting backgrounds and great influence. One hundred non-formal students from community learning centres (CLCs) across Bangkok under the Office of the Non-Formal and Informal Education (ONIE) will be attending to learn how these famous people become successful to get inspired and receive good advices for life for their own self-motivation and make a habit of lifelong learning.

The event will include talks and workshop: ‘Now, Need, Note: 3 Ns to succeed’ by Varavach Jimakulkomol from Value-Up Coaching and Training  and ‘Youth Leadership’ by Veerawong Pipithsuksunt from Thai Entrepreneurship Promotion; talk show-style interview “Let your power shine with 2 stars” in which Actress Pichaya Wattanamontri (Min) and Doctor and Actor Soravich Suboon (Kong) are invited to talk about their lives and obstacles, addressing to youths that life is difficult but that everyone can make it and become successful with their own strong determination; followed by “Mini Concert by The Snacks Acoustic Band’ from famous Saxophone Bar.

TK Park in collaboration with UNESCO Bangkok share common goals to promote youth and young adults to realize their potential and ensure that their capacity is continuously developed to improve their life-skills and employment prospects. As part of the project, UNESCO Bangkok is interviewing Thai celebrities and influential persons including singers, actors and actresses and business persons about their self-motivation, life goals and career planning, and on how they became successful. The first celebrity in this series is actor, musician, singer and model Arak Amornsupasiri or Pe to whom UNESCO talked about his motivating ideas and advice to inspire young people.
