CALL FOR PAPERS:The First UNESCO Conference on Ethics Education for All “Searching for a New Paradigm of Learning to Live Together: Asia-Pacific”

Ethics Education is of the essence for everyone and everywhere. To invest our efforts in enhancing ethics education is to shine a light on our capacities as humans for a better life, for living together within and between countries.  Through this we believe that the many roads to peace shall be seen and followed.

This year, the Regional Unit for Social and Human Sciences in Asia and the Pacific (RUSHSAP) UNESCO Bangkok invites you to bring your powerful imaginative skills and critical thinking to the First UNESCO Asia-Pacific Conference on Ethics Education For All to be held in Hua Hin, Petchburi, Thailand.       

Paper presentations are welcomed for the following sub-themes:

- Social and Global Justice: How Ethics Education can be Applied for Achieving Sustainable Social and Community Development;

- The Ethics Curriculum at University or School: What and How to Teach – a Model Lesson;

- Global Perspectives on Ethics Teaching: Trends, Challenges and Opportunities.

Paper presentations and participation are welcomed from academics, scholars, policy makers, teachers and enthusiasts in various disciplines, from Asia-Pacific and around the world.  Students are encourage to submit abstracts and participate in the conference.

The organizers invite papers on the Conference issues described above.

 

Submission Dates

Deadline for Submission of Abstracts:                       31 July 2014

Deadline for Submission of Full Paper:                      31 August 2014

 

The Abstract should not be more than 300 words in English with 3-5 keywords identified.  It should also carry the full name(s) and contact details of the author(s), as outlined in detail below.

The Full Paper should be between 4,000 to 7,000 words.  Paper receive before the deadline  will be included in the Indexed Conference Proceedings.  The best paper will be published in a publication and posted on the UNESCO website.

Content of the Abstract

1. The body of the abstract is limited to 300 words

2. Body of the abstract: purpose of the study, methods used, summary of the results and conclusion reached.

3.  Author list is limited to 10.

4.  References and credits MUST NOT be included in the abstract. But need to put at the full paper

5.  Simple tables may be made in the submission form PLEASE DO NOT PASTE TABLES IN THE ABSTRACT BODY.

6. Formulas should be avoided.

7. Use standard abbreviations in parentheses after the full word the first time it appears.

8. Please indicate the subject category your abstract most closely represents:      

- Social and Global Justice: How Ethics Education can be Applied for Achieving Sustainable Social and Community Development;

- The Ethics Curriculum at University or School: What and How to Teach – a Model Lesson;

- Global Perspectives on Ethics Teaching: Trends, Challenges and Opportunities.

9.  Figure/Image uploads are restricted to .jpg or .gif only.

10. Abstracts will be published as submitted. Proof and edit your submission accordingly.

Airport Transfers (The Suvarnabhumi International Airport:
There will be an airport shuttle service on a fixed schedule convenient to most major flights at a cost of US$ 30 per person one-way.  The shuttle will leave every hour star from 8:00 to 17:00 on 27 October 2014.  The shuttle service will charge US$ 50 per person on 26 October 2014.   To facilitate this, we will require full flight details at least two weeks prior to arrival.   Upon arrival, the hotel will reconfirm departure dates and shuttle service requirements.

General Information

1. The abstract must be written in English.

2. Deadline: abstracts MUST BE RECEIVED no later than 31 July 2014

3. Online abstracts submissions are required.

4. Participants are responsible for their own travel costs and accommodation.

5. All accepted abstracts will be published and distributed electronically in the Conference Materials.

6. Notification of acceptance will be mailed by s.sophia@unesco.org
